Math 101: Michigan Quarterbacks

MichiganMath
You know the saying, if you have two quarterbacks you have zero quarterbacks. Looks like the Wolverines like nice round numbers. The Detroit Free Press reports that the Maize and Blue may trot out more than one QB this fall … on purpose.

"If you have two quarterbacks that are good enough to win with, then you play them both," Rodriguez said following Thursday's practice. "If I have one that's good enough to win with, I'll only play one."

Huh? Did anyone follow that? If you have two that are good enough to win, then you obviously have one that is good enough to win, right? Rich, you are going to have to show your work to get full credit for that one.

Speaking of which, the Team up North crept south recently to steal a couple of Ohio high school recruits. Michigan received commitments from Justin Turner, a running back and safety from Massillon Washington and Isaiah Bell, a safety from Youngstown Liberty. Turner, ranked No. 42 nationally by Rivals.com, had a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes. Bell did not. Turner is being recruited (and ranked) as a safety.

Devon Lyons is off to West Virginia. We knew this already but the report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette makes it seem more official. Actually, not really.

Lyons, who had a hard luck career with the Buckeyes and played sparingly, this past January received a hardship year from the NCAA. Because he will graduate in June, his transfer will not be effective until the summer but he will be eligible to play this season. Buckeye Commentary wishes him good luck.
