Top play:
Normally, the Ohio State highlights that make ESPN’s “Top Plays” include Beanie Wells tearing of a huge run or Laurinaitis rattling some bones. But it is May, so that makes those last two scenarios less likely.

Instead, Ohio State Men’s Lacrosse goalie Stefan Schroder made the highlight reel with his coast-to-coast goal (for some reason ESPN is not allowing us to embed the video).

The Buckeyes take on No. 1 seed Duke next week in the NCAA quarterfinals.

Men’s Tennis: Raise your hand if you knew the Ohio State Men’s Tennis team is ranked #2 in the country. Well, they are and they just advanced to the Sweet 16 of Tennis after dominating East Tennessee State. The Buckeyes play Illinois this Friday in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Tennis Buckeyes have put up some gaudy numbers in route to gaining their #2 ranking. The season record is 34-1 and their victory on Sunday extended their home winning streak to 73 matches. Yikes.

Buckeyes got talent: Ohio State Student-Athlete Advisory Board is hosting the second annual talent show.

Last year, the wrestling team won the inaugural competition with a stirringly modern West Side Story-esque dance. In fact, the performance apparently became a legend in its own time and an encore performance on a local network newscast last spring (see above). How did I miss that?

Other performances from 2007 included a Riverdance routine from the men’s lacrosse teams and a barbershop quartet by members of men’s cross-country team. This year, ten Buckeye varsity teams are slated to compete for the coveted crown in St. John Arena on May 14 at 7 p.m.

The 10 teams performing at Buckeyes Got Talent include: men’s cross country, football, men’s and women’s lacrosse, rowing, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s swimming and diving, synchronized swimming, men’s track and field and wrestling.

It is a crime if this does not make it on to YouTube. Until then, enjoy:
